Promising singer and songwriter Aviram Shukron (36) from Petach Tikva, one of the great promises of Jewish music in our time, releases his second single “Halevai Hayiti“, a personal and moving work that describes an inner journey of spiritual maturation and a search for meaning.
The song, which comes out perfectly timed for the month of Elul – a time of introspection and soul-searching, and expresses the aspiration of all of us at this time to be “a better and improved version of ourselves,” as Shukron explains. The lyrics refer to the exemplary figures of our forefathers and mothers – Avraham Avinu , Moshe Rabbeinu, David Hamelech, and also Rachel Imeinu – as sources of inspiration for a way of life of faith, strength and giving.
Shukron, married and the father of five children, brings with him extensive experience in the field of religious music. He is a graduate of the Military Rabbinate Choir and even commanded it, served as a backing singer for singer Avraham Fried, and sings in vocal ensembles at weddings, weddings and events. Today, in addition to creating and recording in the studio – he hosts Shabbat chattans and bar mitzvahs, serves as a cantor and poet on Shabbatot and holidays, and performs at events throughout the country.
“Halevai Hayiti” presents Shukron for the first time as a complete creator – he wrote, composed and produced the song himself. The musical arrangement combines motifs from traditional Spanish-Andalusian and poetic music, wrapped in a modern production of guitars and wind instruments, a skill that is not common.
The single is the second stop on Shukron‘s path towards his debut album “Hayom Lifnei Machar“, which is expected to be released after the holidays, Iyh . The album promises to bring more authentic works that stem from a deeply personal and spiritual place.
“We pray that this song will truly enter the listener’s heart and reach as far as possible,” hopes Aviram. “It comes out at an appropriate time of introspection, just before the Yom hadin , and I wish for myself and the listeners that we will be able to be a better version of ourselves.”
