The month of Elul is a time when we quiet the hustle and bustle of everyday life, open our hearts, and find our way back to Hashem. It is a month that reminds us that even if we feel distant, Hashem is right here and waiting for us to take the first step. As the verse “Ani Lidodi ViDodi Li” suggests, when we turn to our Father in Heaven, He draws us closer to Him. The song ‘Elul’ reminds us to take advantage of this precious time when the King is in the field, and Hashem is right with us, expecting and waiting for us with open arms.
