Towards Kabalas HaTorah: Ari Rosenfeld, Capella Choir, Neshamelach Children’s Choir & Moishe Kahana In A New Revival of The Ancient Tune: “Vehaarev”

Shavuot, the time of the giving of our Torah, the artist of emotion, Ari Rosenfeld presents an initial and moving exposure to the ancient tune “Vehaarev,” a melody that combines worlds of kissufim and ascension to the Holy Torah.

The ancient and holy melody, attributed to the holy Maggid of Mezeritch, a disciple of the Baal Shem Tov, and sung with great devotion in the sacred courtyard of Slonim, receives a unique outfit here. When the Rebbe of Toldot Aharon Shlita clothed the vibrant words of the Torah blessing.
In the Chassidic Toldot Aharon, the niggun became an inseparable part of the Torah and closing ceremonies. The climax was recorded in the midst of Shavuot, when it was sung before the recitation of “Akadamut” by the “Tinokot shel Beit Rabban” who stand before the Rebbe and yearn to recite the request: “May we all know Your name, Hashem, and learn your Torah.”

The current performance is perfectly arranged by Moshi Kahana, who combines the caressing voice of Ari Rosenfeld with the vocal harmony of the ‘Capella’ choir arranged by Noti Rothman and the sweetness of the voices of the Neshmalach children’s choir conducted by Moti Berger. With the graphic cover by artist Shimon Rochman from SDR Publishing.
