Just before ticket sales open for the “Tzama” events of 5787 launching this coming Saturday night (Parashat Bereshit)—the Chassidic melody “VeTaher Libenu” is being released. It is performed by the “Revivo Project” in a rhythmic, joyful arrangement that bridges different musical worlds.
The beloved musical project “Tzama” is launching an intriguing new single ahead of this year’s massive events, featuring a surprise performance by the “Revivo Project.” The popular group—comprising Raviv Ben-Menachem, Nir Ben-Menachem, and Eliran Tzur, performs the well-known Chabad melody “VeTaher Libenu” with a fresh, upbeat, and joyous arrangement.
The new single is being released just before the official opening of ticket sales for the “Tzama” events—a tradition spanning 17 years—which kick off this coming Saturday night (Parashat Bereshit). The upcoming Shabbat, marking the start of the new Torah reading cycle and the story of the world’s creation over the six days of work and the Shabbat of rest, carries a message of holiness, rest, and connection—values that lie at the heart of this new song. “VeTaher Libeinu” with lyrics drawn from the Sabbath Amidah, is one of the well-known Chabad niggunim for Shabbat and Yom Tov. Unlike many Chassidic melodies characterized by longing, this is a particularly joyful tune. It expresses the idea that closeness to the Creator need not stem from pain or hardship; rather, it can—and primarily should—arise from a sense of gratitude, intimacy, and joy regarding the immense goodness and abundance present in the world.
The fusion of “Revivo Project’s” warm, nostalgic style with this Chassidic melody was crafted under the direction of Naor Carmi, the musical producer of the “Tzama” project. This new arrangement aims to appeal to all segments of the Jewish people, inviting everyone to experience the joy and holiness of the Shabbat.
The members of “Revivo Project” shared their personal connection to the melody: “For us, the Shabbat is the happiest, holiest, and most family-oriented day of the week. Every week, we eagerly look forward to it—to the family time, the synagogue, the melodies, and its unique flavors. We were deeply moved to perform this special melody and to collaborate with a project of ‘Tzama‘s’ magnitude.”
Enjoy the music!
