Singer and composer Yechiel Lichtiger, one of the grandchildren of the Rebbe of the author of “Tiferet Shlomo” of Radomsk, Zy”a, is currently launching a new and exciting Shabbat melody called “Ravrivin“, based on the words of the famous piyyut “Kah Ribon Olam and V’Olmaya” sung at the Shabbat tables in Jewish homes for generations.
The new melody carries with it the special Chassidic fragrance of the house, and combines emotion, devotion and longing for the spiritual world of Shabbat. The tune was composed by Lichtiger himself in special and inspiring moments, while he was at the holy site of his great grandfather, the author of the “Tiferet Shlomo” zy”a in the city of Radomsk, Poland.
According to Lichtiger, the idea and the melody were born out of a sense of transcendence and a desire to connect with the spiritual roots of the glorious Radomsk dynasty. “I stood next to the holy site, and in moments of contemplation and prayer the words began to take on their own melody. I felt as if the tune simply descended from above,” he says.
