Akiva Zneimer is a London-based singer-songwriter whose music blends soul and folk with timeless Jewish themes, drawing inspiration from artists such as Matisyahu, Ishay Ribo, Zusha, and Yosef Karduner. With a voice that carries both yearning and hope, Akiva explores faith, emotion, and “neshamah” through a contemporary, accessible sound that is both uplifting and heartfelt.
“Moonlight” was inspired by the idea that moments of darkness are not failures but necessary stages of growth, like the waxing and waning of the moon (as taught by R’Nachman of Breslov in Likutei Moharan, Torah 1 & 6). Uplifting and melodic yet layered with depth, the song features warm acoustic guitar (Noam Barkany & Akiva Zneimer), textured percussion ( Shimmy Hambling) , and grounding electric bass (Barkany) , supporting Akiva’s intimate vocals and soulful spiritual storytelling.
