Ilay Avidani – “Likfotz Lamayim”

Ilay Avidani, the young singer and songwriter from Jerusalem, releases a new and empowering single called “Likfotz Lamayim“. The summery and rhythmic song, written and composed with his brother Yehonatan Avidani, conveys a strong message of self-fulfillment and a call to leave the safe routine in order to fulfill one’s dreams.
“This song ultimately leads me to action, pushes me to fulfill one’s dreams,” says Ilay. “It reminds me of how important self-fulfillment is, and how much it is a part of me. Sometimes the routine of working a regular job, or something that is not really where your heart is, can take over, because it is comfortable. But in reality, dreams are the most important thing for a person to feel whole with themselves and happy.”
The song opens with the words “I didn’t say it was easy / but someone needs to stop it” and continues by describing a journey of releasing tiring thoughts and learning to let go of control. The song culminates with the words “So I decided to jump into the water / And dive into the abyss without control / As long as you’re still with me / There’s no room to fear anything.”
“We chose these words because it’s our way of conveying our thoughts to the audience, the feelings of leaving, and there’s also a push in the lyrics at the end: a push to the audience – come out, do your dreams, make your dreams come true,” explains Ilay. “In the end, you know what your dreams are, and sometimes this routine is not worth losing yourself.”
Ilay expects the song to have a real impact on listeners: “I hope it will physically lead people to get up and make a change, to come and make their dreams come true, to fulfill themselves, to do something they love. In the end, we all know that you’re in a constant routine, and sometimes you give up on your dreams to make other things happen.”
The song was musically produced by his brother Yehonatan Avidani, and is accompanied by a music video directed and produced by Rotem Avidani.
Likfotz Lamayim” is a continuation of Ilay‘s artistic journey. He began performing on stage at the age of 8 and even won second place in a music school. After the success of his previous single “Ad Hasof Itcha,” Ilay continues to develop his unique style that combines contemporary music with meaningful content.
