We’re honored to release a brand-new cover of “B’ein Meilitz Yosher,” a timeless tefillah first recorded in the 1970s by the London School of Jewish Song. For decades, its hauntingly beautiful words and melody have carried generations into the Yamim Noraim, giving voice to the heartfelt cry for mercy and the hope of being judged favorably.
This song was written and composed by Jeffrey Kramer, and it was Yigal Calek A”H who brought it to life with his legendary choir. Yigal’s vision and artistry elevated the piece into one of the most beloved melodies of the Yamim Noraim. This cover is released in his honor, paying tribute to his incredible legacy, especially as we mark his first yahrtzeit.
This moving new rendition is performed by Shalom Jacobs, the chazan (cantor) at Chabad of the Shore and a renowned singer known for bringing soul and emotion to every prayer, alongside Yisroel Zev Gifter, and arranged by the talented Yossi Schwartz. It was filmed and edited by Gavi Starke at the stunning Eastside Sound studio on the Lower East Side, with breathtaking visuals, color, and production that match the soul of the music.
Released on Selichos night, at the very start of our journey into the High Holidays, our hope is that this song helps you pause, reflect, and enter Yom Tov with a more open and uplifted heart.
