Rabbi Yoel Roth Releases A New Song & Music Video: A Mechaye A Groise Mishpucha

A message of encouragement against a cultural trend: A widely influential rabbi presents a spectacular song in Yiddish (translated with subtitles), encouraging families facing social difficulties, and reminds us that what seems difficult today will become a great blessing in the future.

Rabbi Yoel Roth, known in the United States as the “Rosh Yeshiva,” is a well-known figure with a wide influence on tens of thousands of people around the world. Now, he is launching a new and spectacular song and music video designed to encourage families to expand and become large and blessed families. The song is performed in Yiddish with Hebrew subtitles and presents a message against the cultural trend prevalent today in America and other places, even among the observant public who prefer “small” families.

“In America, it’s no longer fashionable to have many children,” explains one of the clip’s producers. “If you have a big family, people will look at you in amazement, even Chassidim will hint to you, ‘What’s going on?’ The song has a message that maybe it’s hard now, but if you look ahead in 20 or 30 years, you’ll be an adult and you’ll be content.”

Rabbi Yoel Roth, known as the “Rosh Yeshiva,” is a central figure in the world of education and spiritual strengthening. About 20 years ago, he approached the Moherash (the righteous Rabbi Eliezer Shlomo Schick zt”l) of Baniel, who encouraged him to open a yeshiva. After his passing, Rabbi Roth continued to develop the yeshiva, which has now become a thriving community spread across various cities. The community members live mainly in the mountains of New York, where the cost of living is lower, and people can focus on family and community values. The community is characterized by a practical approach to life: most residents (about 60%) are independent businessmen – owners of factories, stores, chains and contractors that the Rabbi has pushed to business success. The approach is that those who do not study should go to work and be independent, while avoiding unnecessary financial obligations.

Rabbi Roth has developed a unique approach to conveying messages: instead of traditional sermons, he creates songs that embed the message “in two, three minutes.” Over the years, he has created over 20 songs and hundreds of melodies on every possible topic – from modesty and Sabbath observance to the proper use of technology. Among his innovative projects: a unique CD intended for women only – probably the first of its kind in the world – that deals with modesty and topics of interest to women only. Today, almost 100,000 people receive the daily messages of encouragement distributed via WhatsApp, email and various groups in different languages.

The new music video continues a tradition of music with only positive messages. “All the songs and melodies are characterized by positivity: they do not focus on what is forbidden but on what is positive: “People, you and your family should keep Shabbat. You will only benefit if you go to shul to daven – all in a beautiful way.”
